If you’re an enthusiastic and organised team player with a keen eye for detail, we may have the role for you. We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to support our wider finance team with day-to-day financial processes and administration.

About the RoleJob Purpose:

Provide hands-on assistance to the Finance Manager and support to the Finance Team to ensure a quality service is being provided to internal and external stakeholders.

Support the day-to-day workings of the Finance Team enabling improved business performance through accurate recording of financial information.

Key Task Areas:

Undertake administrative duties associated with the processing of purchase orders, invoices, and credit notes.
Preparing BACS runs for payment.
Cash handling and banking imports for NTT (Sales and Customer Experience)
Control and perform petty cash administration
Assisting Finance Team with general administration.
Providing holiday and sickness cover within the Finance Team as directed by the Finance Manager.
Support Finance Team in preparation of Month End schedules (Accruals, Pre-Payments etc.)
Assisting with the annual external audit

Additional Information

Hours of work: 30 hour per week over a minimum four or five days (working pattern to be agreed with successful candidate)

Salary: £19,828 - £21,050 per annum (FTE £24,454 - £25,962)

Produced productions – All colleagues will receive two tickets to the press night of all Made In Northampton productions where available. Additional comps will be available for any performance during the run (subject to availability).
 Presented productions – Comps may be available for those productions that have not achieved sales of 80% of capacity on each individual performance, subject to contract arrangements and sales patterns.
Films – Comps will be made available to colleagues for films at Northampton Film house where availability allows. A weekly email will be sent out to all colleagues providing a list of eligible film screenings. The £1.00 booking fee will apply.

Requirements

Experience

Previous experience of Purchase Ledger administration
Previous experience of computerised systems
Experience of implementing / maintaining administrative systems/procedures
Attending meetings and producing accurate minutes

Knowledge/Qualifications

Understanding of computerised sales ledger

Skills/Abilities

Analytical approach to problem-solving
Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, particularly Excel and Word
Accurate and numerate
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work using own initiative
Attention to detail
Enthusiastic team player
Maintaining confidentiality

Desirable Skills

Experience

Previous experience of computerised purchase ledger operation.

Knowledge/Qualifications

• Computerised integrated accounting systems preferably Exchequer

• Technical knowledge of correct purchase ledger operation

• Computerised sales ledger

• Understanding and appreciation of performing arts and entertainment
