Finance Assistant – Grimsby – £22,500
We are proud to be working closely with a well-established company within Grimsby, who are leaders in their specialist sector. An exciting opportunity to join their finance team as Finance Assistant and enjoy a varied position within a growing department.

Undertake daily tasks to assist in the effective and efficient running of a busy Transactional Finance Department
Develop knowledge and skills to enable cover for holidays and other absences within the department particularly at month and year end
Support Internal Stakeholders to optimise the flow of appropriate, ‘best value’ Purchase Orders
Support the Transactional Team in ensuring all Capital, Project and Grant Expenditure is correctly coded and has been through the appropriate Authorisation and Approval Procedures
Collation of Monthly Purchasing Card Expenditure for processing and reconciliation on the bank
Support and Monitor Budget Holders and Requisitioners in the efficient and timely raising and processing of Purchase Requisitions
Check and Analyse the quality of Approved Purchase Orders that are going out to Suppliers and feedback any issues to the Finance Team as appropriate
Provide cross-cover to other areas of the wider Transactional Team, in particular become able to cover Credit Control, Bank Payments and Purchase Invoice Posting
The ideal candidate will:
A good understanding of double entry and basic accounting principles
Experience within a finance environment in a varied accounts role
A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work towards deadlines
IT knowledge including Excel
A problem solver with strong attention to detail
