Description:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join a dynamic Multi-Academy Trust in South East London. The MAT has grown exponentially in the past three years, comprising of three secondary and five primary schools. As part of the accounts payable team within the central finance function, the Finance Assistant will primarily focus on efficient and accurate payment processing, providing support to the wider group of schools within the trust.
Key responsibilities of the Finance Assistant role include:
* Accurately inputting payment data into the financial systems (PS Financials) including details of invoices, payment amounts, and account codes.
* Assisting in scheduling payments within the Trust's payment terms, obtaining necessary approvals and permissions as required.
* Maintaining organized and up-to-date records of payment documentation, invoices, and confirmations.
* Collaborating effectively with the payment processing team, Accounts Payable Supervisor, and other team members to resolve payment-related issues and inquiries.
* Supporting the development of the use of financial management systems within the Trust.
* Preparation of payment runs and obtaining necessary approvals and authorisation from the head teachers/business Leads for payments to be made.
The successful Finance Assistant will be educated to GCSE level with English and Maths, ideally coupled with an accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA). Previous experience of financial and management accounting and software (PS Financials and ParentPay) in a school environment is preferable. You will have excellent communication, both written and verbal, and prioritisation skills and the ability to work both proactively and independently.
