My client is a well-established business with a friendly head office team in the centre of Cheltenham. They need a Finance Assistant to work alongside their accountant and keep the finance side running smoothly. It’s a varied role and one you can really put your stamp on.
What you’ll be doing
* Running the purchase ledger and preparing payment runs
* Posting and reconciling bank and credit card statements
* Coding and reconciling nominal accounts on Sage 50
* Helping with payroll alongside the team and an external bureau
* Raising sales invoices and chasing the odd overdue debt
* Looking after petty cash
* Managing the finances for a portfolio of properties: rent, utilities, contracts and renewals
What they’re looking for
* Experience in a finance role, from any sector
* AAT Level 3 or equivalent experience (Level 4 would be a bonus)
* Confident on Excel and comfortable with accounting software. Sage 50 is ideal but not essential
* Someone organised and accurate who can switch between tasks without losing track
* A good phone manner and the confidence to deal with suppliers and contractors
