Job Title: Finance Assistant
Reports To: Finance Director
Job Summary:
As a Finance Assistant at Futura Design Ltd you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Your keen attention to detail, analytical skills, and proactive approach will be essential in contributing to the smooth functioning and continuous improvement of our finance department. Key Responsibilities
1) Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices, expense claims, and payment runs.
Accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
Create and send customer statements.
Credit control aspects to ensure timely receipts.
2) Reconciliations:
Perform monthly reconciliations across various nominal accounts.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
3) General Ledger:
Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Post journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
Assist with accruals and prepayments.
4) Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
Support the Finance Director in preparing financial statements and management accounts.
Monitoring client purchase order balances and highlighting to relevant team.
Analysis as required.
5) Payroll:
Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments.
Collect payroll hours in a timely manner.
6) Compliance and Audits:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits.
7) Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate financial records and files.
Support the finance team, and wider company. with ad hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications & skills:
AAT qualified or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in a finance department.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. (vlookups / sumifs / pivot tables etc)
Experience with Sage 200 would be advantageous, though this can be taught.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Self-motivated.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
