About the role…

Are you looking to start a rewarding career in Finance while gaining a recognised professional qualification?

As a Finance Apprentice within our Water and Infrastructure Finance team, you will provide valuable support to the Finance function while working towards a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent). This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and finance activities while developing your knowledge, skills and career within a supportive environment.

Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the Finance team while building a strong foundation for a successful future in accounting and finance.

As a Finance Apprentice you will…

Assist with the production of sales invoices.

Process purchase invoices and liaise with colleagues across the business to resolve discrepancies.

Support cash collection activities.

Allocate customer receipts and supplier payments accurately.

Prepare helpful analyses of costs and revenues.

Produce cost centre reports.

Prepare and post accounting journals.

Assist with monthly finance activities, including statements, reconciliations, credit card analysis and timesheet processing.

Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider finance team with administrative tasks.

Work towards achieving a Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent) alongside your role.

About you…

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in building a career in Finance.

You will have:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Finance and Accounting.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong relationship-building and teamwork abilities.

The ability to work accurately and meet strict deadlines.

Good planning, prioritisation and time-management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

A willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges.

A positive attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service.

This role would suit someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with numbers and is looking for a long-term career path within a growing and supportive business.
