We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance and Capital Officer to join an organisation in Stone on a 14-month contract covering maternity leave.
 
You’ll provide management accounts support, undertake month-end accruals, prepayments and reconcile control accounts. You’ll also be responsible for aspects of the capital accounting process including detailed monthly reporting and fixed asset register maintenance.
 
Job Description:
 
Reporting to the Head of Finance, duties for the Finance and Capital Officer will include:

Assisting with the production of the monthly management accounts and budget holder reporting
Reconciling control accounts, ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and resolved
Producing regular reports for budget holders and providing advice, guidance and support
Leading the capital accounting process, including responsibility for the fixed assets register and production of the capital programme to be presented by the Director of Finance
Attendance secretarial duties at the quarterly Capital Review Group
Support in the maintenance and development of the financial system
Take the lead in setting up and maintaining users on the system as well as the cost centres to ensure accurate reporting and that system controls work effectively
Assist with the setting and monitoring of the annual budget
Support with year-end duties For the Finance and Capital Officer role, it would be good to see candidates with:

AAT qualification
Month-end accounting experience
Capital monitoring experience
The ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders Hours: Mondy to Friday, 37 hours per week (flexi-time)
Salary: £29,874 per annum
 
This role is commutable from Stone, Stafford, Stoke on Trent, Trentham, Longton, Uttoxeter, Eccleshall, Hixon
 
The role would suit candidates with the following experience: accounts payable, accounts receivable, transactional officer, accounts assistant, accounts administrator, accounts clerk, purchase ledger, sales ledger.
