Description:

Our client is looking for a Field Technician for a permanent position, located in Aberdeenshire.

ROLE

To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, support, assemble and test various tools / services and equipment at onshore, offshore and client locations as well as operating various tools in a safe manner while ensuring that a quality product and service is always provided to the client. Act as a main point of contact for clients while offshore/at client locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, support, assemble and test various tools / services and equipment at onshore, offshore, customer and company locations to standards / procedures set out by customers / clients.
To travel to onshore/offshore sites both in the UK and overseas in the support of operational requirements.
Work to and maintain a high standard of quality for the company products and services.
To ensure that all defects to material, components or equipment are reported to the Workshop & Field Manager and projects team.
Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing.
Pro-active in the proposal and introduction of new assembly and testing techniques to improve productivity or safety.
To liaise with the Workshop & Field Manager on any issues arising.
Be involved in environmental, health & safety issues.
Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required.
Liaison with the Field Technician Level II & III or the Project Engineer on any material, client/project issues.
Help with proposal and introduction of new safety equipment.
To maintain material certification and traceability for all material used.
To ensure that all gauge/inspection equipment is correct and current prior to use.
Any other duties required by the Workshop & Field Manager, and / or Workshop Supervisor if at company premises.
To support other departments as and when required.
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum sound mechanical trade with a good all-round understanding of oilfield equipment assembly and pressure testing techniques.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team working to high standards with client lead times being the delivery driver.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional and effective solution to clients and customers.
To have a flexible approach to working times, as offshore and site working both in the UK and international will be on an adhoc basis with varying trip durations.
Ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
At all times to represent the company in a professional and effective manner.
Ideally with a multidiscipline approach in mechanical and equipment maintenance.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/specifications and any other relevant documentation associated with the project.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to motivate self and others.
