Field Service Engineer – Recycling Machinery

Winner Recruitment are currently recruiting for 3 Field Service Engineers on behalf of a well-established engineering business specialising in recycling and waste-processing machinery.

This is a permanent opportunity for engineers with a strong mechanical and electrical background. Recycling experience is not essential – our client is open to engineers from a range of industrial and engineering backgrounds.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of specialist machinery at customer sites across the UK.

You'll be working directly with customers, carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault-finding and commissioning. You'll need to be comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems and finding practical solutions on site.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, servicing and maintenance of industrial machinery

Mechanical and electrical fault-finding

Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs

Machinery commissioning and testing

Providing technical support to customers

Completing service reports and maintenance paperwork

Working safely and professionally at customer sites

Managing your own workload and prioritising jobs effectively

Supporting occasional overtime and call-outs when required

Machinery

The successful engineers may work on a range of recycling and industrial machinery, including:

Horizontal and vertical balers

Static and portable compactors

Drum crushers

Conveyor systems

Hydraulic machinery

Electro-hydraulic systems

PLC-controlled equipment

What We're Looking For

We're open-minded when it comes to your background. Recycling experience is beneficial but not essential.

We're particularly interested in engineers with experience in areas such as:

Industrial maintenance

Plant and machinery

Manufacturing

Heavy engineering

Agricultural machinery

Construction equipment

Mobile plant

Mechanical and electrical engineering

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills

Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

The ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings

A full UK driving licence

Good communication and customer service skills

The flexibility to travel nationwide and stay away when required
