The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supplying and supporting high-performance industrial machinery across the UK.
This role offers a combination of workshop-based work in Telford and field-based service, installation and maintenance activities at customer sites nationwide. We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience who enjoys variety in their work and is comfortable travelling throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, commissioning and servicing of industrial machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown support at customer sites.
Perform electrical wiring and fault-finding activities, including work on 3-phase systems.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Undertake workshop assembly, testing and refurbishment work at the Telford facility.
Produce service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Provide excellent customer support and technical assistance during site visits.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
About You
Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar role.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and fault diagnostics.
Experience with electrical wiring and fault-finding.
Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems is highly desirable.
Mechanically minded with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable travelling across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
Full UK driving licence.
Based within a commutable distance of Telford to support workshop requirements.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
