The company
A Global Leading manufacturing business specialising in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment ranging from generators to turbines. Due to continuous growth and a significant increase in demand with key customers, the business is now seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their dedicated Service team.
The role
Now looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their dedicated service team to support valued clients on-site globally and the workshop at their state-of-the-art Birmingham facility (50/50 in the field & on-site).
You will take responsibility for:
Being the main point of contact and managing all customer interactions across various locations
To carry out maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of mechanical rotating equipment, motors, pumps, generators, compressors, turbines, etc.
Skilfully stripping, rebuilding and fitting machinery and replacing and repairing components when necessary
Installing and commissioning heavy equipment
To conduct inspection, testing and fault diagnostics to assess the condition of the equipment, ensuring compliancy with quality standards.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
Must be apprenticeship trained in engineering or hold an equivalent qualification.
Mechanical fitting/building/servicing experience
Competent and experienced at working with various rotating machinery such as stators, rotors, coils, motors, etc.
Ability to fault-find on mechanical and/or electrical machinery
Experience of working in a heavy engineering/production environment
Well versed in health and safety
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
Electromechanical experience is desirable but not essential
Experience working with AC/DC Motors is highly advantageous
Experience of working with generators/turbines or rotating machinery
Ability to work on HV and LV equipment
Three-Phase Wiring is desirable
