Field Service Engineer
Location: Midlands

Reports To: Service Coordinator
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our Service & Commissioning team. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing smoke and fire damper control systems and related equipment at customer sites.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, service, and repair smoke and fire damper control systems and interfaces.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults on-site and remotely.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site requirements.
Work closely with internal engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues.
Manage service calls and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
Maintain tools, equipment, and service stock.
Provide feedback to support product and service improvements.
What We're Looking For
Time-served electrician with strong electrical and electronic control systems experience.
Fully qualified electrician (minimum 17th Edition / BS 7671).
Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of electrical circuits and control panels.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
Must be willing to travel extensively and stay away from home when required (including overnight stays).
Full UK driving licence.Desirable
Experience with fire and smoke damper systems.
