Our client is a vertically integrated renewable energy company in Exeter, and due to the demand for the role we are looking for an O&M Field Service Engineer to join their team.

About the Role

Our client has various ground mount solar PV assets under management. The role will complete all day-to-day operation and maintenance services to ensure that the PV systems operate to maximum efficiency. Offer technical reporting services for PV system maintenance, and preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks.

Main responsibilities:

* You will be required daily to visit various sites in the portfolio of the company. You will be asked to work closely with the HV engineer in order to execute (i) planned preventative maintenance, (ii) corrective maintenance and (iii) troubleshooting. In certain occasions you will be asked to support the team by identifying local suppliers for various materials and services in order to conduct corrective maintenance activities.

* Responsible for routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems

* Responsible for complying with company procedures

* Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance accordingly with the PPM annual plan

* Responsible for performing Corrective Maintenance as occurs

* Reporting of activities performed on site, upon any site visit and on a daily basis, through the CMMS or manual reports as applicable

* Own risk assessment, analysis, and operational Limitations. Report all near misses to manager

* Responsible for supervision and coordination of third-party contractors carrying out works on site

* Coordinate third party contractors in order to comply with H&S Regulations

* Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, that are suitable for audit

* Fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly

About You

* Qualified electrician and Solar PV Engineer

* 18th Edition Qualified along with testing & inspection etc. or equivalent

* Experience of supervising sub-contractors

* Computer literate

* Can work under own initiative

* Full UK Driving Licence

* Attention to detail

* Willingness to travel flexibly

* Willingness to be available for out-of-hours on-call duties in line with company policy

* Able to use It equipment and mobile phone for reporting, working knowledge of Microsoft office, IT skills.

* Strong technical competencies

* Strong organisational abilities and ambitious approach to work

* Diligent & knowledgeable approach to Health and Safety

* A team player with an aptitude for leading and motivating others

* Commercial awareness

* Ability to effectively problem solve and think outside the box

* Proactive nature and initiative-taking approach to work tasks
