As a Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, repair, and enhancement of equipment in the field, along with providing necessary customer/internal training as required. Your tasks involve investigating technical issues, warranty failures, and in-field malfunctions, resolving them efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining continuous communication with Product Specialists and Service Management. You must effectively diagnose system problems and provide repair solutions, focusing on keeping customers informed of progress, particularly during maintenance or downtime. You'll need to maintain comprehensive documentation of system issues and preventive maintenance in customer site logs, alongside gathering and recording machine information for performance monitoring. Completing machine installations, handling Engineering Change Notices (ECN) affecting system upgrades and assisting with hardware/software upgrades requiring technical support are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll make recommendations for enhancing service, reliability, and equipment performance, with any challenging technical issues promptly escalated for resolution with technical support.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

Experience in a similar customer-facing environment working to achieve customer service levels.
Mechanically competent to a high standard.
Electro-mechanically and IT competent to a high standard.
Mechanically competent.
Good IT skills, able to learn or already have skills in IT networking and software.
Understands local Health and Safety regulations and works within company guidelines.
Effectively represents the Company whilst meeting the needs of the business partner; develops partner relationships through trust and performance.
Is flexible and can prioritise, plan and monitor own activity, performance and progress.
Possesses first class customer service and communication skills; written and oral.
Logical trouble shooting skills and capability to isolate problems at PCB or component level.
Ability to effectively work with electric schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
Understanding of AC/DC power distribution and digital/analogue circuitry.
Must be available for on call (on a rota including weekends with additional payment).
Working knowledge of personal computers especially Microsoft Office, navigation across network sites and email communication.
Holder of a Drivers Licence.
