Are you an experienced Service Engineer with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering? Are you looking for a varied, hands-on role involving UK and international travel?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in food processing machinery. Due to continued requirements, they are looking for a multi-skilled Field Service & Installation Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with machinery, travelling to customer sites and getting involved in installation, commissioning and fault-finding activities.

The Role

Working across the UK and overseas, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning and servicing a range of specialist food processing equipment.

When not travelling or working at customer sites, you may also be involved in the repair, refurbishment and preparation of machinery at the company's manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities will include:

Installing, commissioning and servicing specialist food processing machinery.

Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical breakdowns.

Carrying out fault-finding and repairs at customer premises.

Supporting customers to minimise machinery downtime.

Assisting with machinery refurbishment and repair work.

Maintaining professional relationships with customers and colleagues.

Working flexibly to accommodate installation and service requirements, including occasional nights and weekends.

About You

We are interested in hearing from engineers with either an electrical or mechanical bias. Ideally, you will have experience across both disciplines, although additional training can be provided to develop your skill set.

You should ideally have:

Previous experience in a Service Engineer, Installation Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar position.

A mechanical or electrical engineering background.

Experience fault-finding and repairing industrial machinery.

The ability to work independently and communicate confidently with customers.

A flexible approach to working hours and willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas.

Experience with PLCs and HMIs would be advantageous, although training can be provided.

An engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience would also be beneficial.

Working Arrangements

Permanent, full-time position.

39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Based from the company's Great Gransden facility.

Regular UK and overseas travel.

Flexibility required for occasional evening, weekend and out-of-hours work.

Candidates must live within approximately 25 miles of the company's base.

Salary & Benefits

Up to £21.50 per hour, depending on experience and knowledge.

20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 days with service.

Annual performance-related company bonus.

Pension scheme.

Life assurance.

Company sick pay scheme.

Subsidised refreshments.

Staff meals and events.

Company workwear.
