Field Network Project Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 + Benefits + Annual Bonus (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Field (Travel Required to Customer Sites around Berkshire, Slough, Hampshire & Corsham)

Role Description: As a Field IT Network Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in deploying infrastructure to client sites, resolving technical issues, and supporting installations. This dynamic position involves extensive travel throughout the Thames Valley corridor, offering a diverse and challenging work environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in network operations, particularly in routing and switching, and possess a collaborative spirit. You will work alongside a team of experts, engaging in support and project activities on a 2nd / 3rd Line basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide on-site project support for the company's expanding national client base.
Collaborate with leading technology vendors (Cisco/HP/Fortinet/Palo Alto) and contribute to standardisation efforts.
Support network architecture teams with hands-on expertise in network security and design.
Manage LAN, WLAN, MPLS, WAN, FW/VPN systems and ensure network security compliance.
Undertake installations, configurations, and troubleshooting tasks at various client sites.
Monitor network performance, respond to issues, and implement network improvements.
Adhere to network policies, change control processes, and governance standards.
Assist the service desk team with technical escalations and case resolutions.
Contribute to Presales activities and propose client solutions when needed.
Meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:

BPSS Standard background check clearance (SC level clearance advantageous).
Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
Expertise in Remote Access, VPN configuration, and zone-based firewall administration.
Proficiency in L2 switching platforms and layer 2 protocols.
Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies, industrial switching, and data centre environments.
Familiarity with Cisco DNA Centre, ISE, and FMC is a plus.
Full driving license & ability to use your own vehicle for UK travel requirements.
Understanding of ISO certifications.
