Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector

Description:

Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector – Midlands & North West

£30 per hour (outside IR35) + overtime + paid travel time + fuel paid + overnight accommodation (as required) + excellent, long-term contract work available

Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector responsibilities include:

* Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.

* Provide detailed reports following inspections & quality control.

* Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.

* Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.

* Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector profile:

* A Welding Engineer / Inspector, ideally min 10yrs background as an Engineer, with at least 3-5yrs of this in field-based equipment inspections (including NDT & material control)

* C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in Engineering discipline.

* CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN

* Radiographic Interpretation Levell II

* PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II

* Sound understanding of Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.

* Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.

* Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.

* Current or previous SC clearance beneficial OR resident & working in the UK for the last 5yrs.
