FACTORY MANAGER
Job Title – Factory Manager
Location – Upwell, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Shift: Monday to Friday (07:00 – 16:00)
Job Role of the Factory Manager
A brilliant opportunity has become available for an energetic, hands-on Factory Manager to take ownership of production operations within a growing food manufacturer. This role would suit a strong Production Manager / Operations Manager looking to step up—this is not a spectator position and requires a real “lead from the front” mindset.
As the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing performance and ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and fully compliant with food safety and quality standards. You will manage operational KPIs such as efficiency, waste, labour utilisation and downtime, reacting quickly to resolve any deviation, while driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the factory.
Sector – Food Manufacturing / Production
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Factory Manager
Proven experience as a Production Manager / Operations Manager / Factory Manager (or similar) within a manufacturing environment
Requirements for the Factory Manager
Ability to lead and develop production/operations teams (training, engagement, retention)
Experience supporting audits and maintaining audit-ready standards at all times
Strong operational planning ability, working closely with planning, engineering, procurement and logistics
Continuous improvement mindset (lean / CI projects, waste reduction, efficiency gains)
Comfortable supporting NPD trials and process implementation on the factory floor
