Position: Facilities Operative
Location: Wallingford
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Our client is a dynamic organisation, dedicated to maintaining high standards in facilities management and site support activities. They are committed to ensuring a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for all stakeholders.
The Role:
As a Facilities Operative, you will work within the Facilities Department, engaging with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of the site.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks across the site, including basic repairs, equipment maintenance, and the upkeep of buildings and external areas.
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Respond to reactive maintenance issues as directed.
- Assist with monitoring site services and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Conduct regular safety checks, identify hazards, and report issues.
- Assist with waste management and maintaining site cleanliness.
- Support contractor activities when required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Act as a keyholder, responsible for daily site checks and shutdowns.
- Operate as part of an 'Out of Hours' response team.
About You:
Applicants should possess strong practical skills in general maintenance tasks, with a basic understanding of health and safety practices. Experience in a maintenance or hands-on environment is essential. You will need to be physically capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting and bending, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A full clean driving licence is required. Competency with electrics and a forklift licence are advantageous but not essential.
