Description:

Are you an experienced Facilities Manager with a strong background in hard FM? A leading, well-established charitable organisation near Basingstoke is looking for a technically capable and proactive Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient running of its buildings and infrastructure. Charity experience isn’t required, just the hard FM expertise and the drive to make a difference.

The Role
As Facilities Manager, you’ll oversee the maintenance, compliance, and performance of the organisation’s premises, with a clear focus on the building fabric and mechanical and electrical services. You’ll be the go-to person for all things premises related, managing planned and reactive maintenance, overseeing specialist contractors, and making sure statutory compliance is spot on. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll see the real impact of your work and be part of a purpose-driven organisation with a strong reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Managing hard FM services across the organisation’s premises, including M&E, HVAC, fire systems, lifts, plumbing, and building fabric
Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and to a high standard
Ensuring full statutory compliance, including fire safety, legionella, electrical and gas safety, asbestos management, and LOLER and PUWER requirements
Sourcing, managing, and monitoring specialist contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality of service, compliance, and value for money
Carrying out regular site inspections and risk assessments, maintaining accurate compliance records and documentation
Managing facilities budgets, keeping a close eye on costs and identifying opportunities for savings
Planning and overseeing minor works, refurbishments, and building improvement projects
Managing emergency procedures and supporting business continuity planning
Supporting and supervising facilities or maintenance team members where applicable
Promoting sustainability and energy efficiency across the organisation’s sites What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a facilities management role with a strong hard FM background.
Solid technical knowledge of building services, fire safety systems, and statutory compliance requirements
Experience managing specialist contractors
Good budgetary awareness and the ability to manage costs effectively
IOSH, NEBOSH, or IWFM qualification is desirable, though not essential
A practical, organised, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with colleagues and external partners at all levels
Charity or not-for-profit experience is not required, and candidates from any sector are welcome to apply
Based within commuting distance of Basingstoke What’s on Offer

Salary up to £37,000 depending on experience
The chance to work for a leading, well-established charitable organisation with a strong reputation
A varied, hands-on role where your contribution makes a visible difference
A supportive, values-driven working environment
Genuine opportunities for career development and progression
