Job Description:
We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering fabrication business in Birmingham for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their busy workshop on a temp-to-perm basis, with a permanent position offered to the right candidate after a qualifying period.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering a genuine mix of fabrication work — no repetitive production-line output. You'll be working across stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, producing quality fabricated components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
What you'll be doing:
* Fabricating in stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel
* TIG welding (particularly stainless steel and aluminium)
* MIG welding
* Sheet metal folding and forming
* Guillotine cutting
* Press brake operation
* Rolling/forming sheet materials
* Working accurately from engineering drawings
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator in an industrial/engineering environment
* Strong TIG welding skills, ideally on stainless and aluminium
* Confident MIG welding ability
* Experience with press brake, guillotine and folding equipment
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings unsupervised
* Good attention to detail and a quality-first approach
