Fabricator / Welder
Location: Saxmundham, East Suffolk (own transport required)
Salary: Up to £37,570 PA (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
Working hours options: 07:30-16:30
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run engineering business specialising in high-quality fabrication, bespoke metalwork, and engineered solutions for the agricultural sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a skilled Fabricator / Welder to their team.
Role Summary:
This is a hands-on workshop role where you'll be involved in the full fabrication process; from reading technical drawings through to welding and final assembly. You'll work on a range of bespoke and batch projects, producing high-quality work to tight specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, cut, shape, and assemble metal components
Carry out MIG welding (2-10mm) and TIG welding (from 1.2mm stainless steel)
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Mechanical fitting and assembly of fabricated components
Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
Operate workshop machinery and tools safely
Maintain high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping
About You (Essential):
Proven experience in fabrication and welding
Strong MIG welding experience (TIG advantageous)
Ability to read and work from technical drawings
Good mechanical fitting skills
High attention to detail and quality standards
Strong understanding of health & safety
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Own transport due to location
Desirable:
Experience within the agricultural or similar industry
TIG welding on stainless steel down to approx. 1.2mm
Welding/fabrication qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent)
