You , the Fabric Technologist will support the Product Department with the sourcing, development and production of premium fabrics and materials, in line with the agreed strategy, ensuring maximised profit margins, and adhering to the companies quality standards .Working across multiple product and fabric categories, while retaining commercial viability and required performance attributes.

Client Details

A great opportunity for a Fabric Technologist to join a contemporary & active apparel business in the Sheffield area. They are a Ecommerce & Wholesale company that have seen strong growth of the past 3 years. With offices in South Yorkshire, London and LA. Due to this they are looking for a Product Developer on Accessories to join the product team.

Description

Material Development and Innovation:

Collaborate with design and development teams to source new and innovative fabrics to drive the brand forward.
R & D new materials, finishes, and techniques to evolve fabric performance and sustainability.
Work with the Product team to organise and maintain the in-house fabric library.Project Management:

Manage multiple seasons and categories in parallel, communicating with key stakeholders efficiently.
Collaborate with all departments, including design, development, production, and merchandising, to coordinate the fabric from s ample stages through bulk production.QC and Testing:

Implement and oversee testing procedures to ensure fabrics meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
Work with test houses to conduct physical and chemical tests on fabrics to assess their properties and ensure they meet global standards.Compliance and Sustainability:

Ensure all fabrics comply with relevant legal and environmental regulations.
Promote sustainability within the supply chain by advocating for the most environmentally conscious materials and working with the Leadership Team to ensure the Sustainability roadmap is considered.Supplier Management:

Work closely with supplier s to resolve any issues r elated to fabric quality, production delays, or technical challenges.
Work with the Directors to find new suppliers and mills to break into new categories.

Profile

Ability and willingness to travel within UK, EU and Asia if required Self-motivated and wanting to learn and develop skills and knowledge

Organized and methodical approach to work, driven by attention to detail

Ability to work independently and within multiple teams

Effective communicator

Excellent project management skills

Strong understanding of Microsoft office and PowerPoint
