About the Role

We are recruiting a skilled Fabric Maintenance Engineer to join an on-site facilities team within a premier commercial office building in the City of London.

Working alongside the M&E engineering team, you will take ownership of general building fabric upkeep, internal architectural repairs, and day-to-day building maintenance to ensure the property remains in top condition for corporate occupants.

Key Responsibilities

Handle minor carpentry and joinery repairs, including internal doors, fire doors, locks, closers, handles, and office furniture.

Perform routine painting, decorating, plaster patching, and wall touch-ups.

Carry out basic plumbing maintenance, such as unblocking wastes, fixing leaking taps, replacing washers, and inspecting pipework.

Replace damaged suspended ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, and floor trims.

Support weekly statutory compliance checks, including fire alarm testing, water flushing, and visual emergency light inspections.

Assist on-site mechanical and electrical engineers with minor tasks, filter changes, and escorting specialist sub-contractors.

Demonstrable experience working as a fabric engineer or building maintenance technician within commercial offices or corporate properties.

Versatile hands-on skillset covering carpentry, basic plumbing, minor decorating, and general building repairs.

Strong awareness of health and safety standards in occupied office environments.

Professional presentation and good communication skills, with a proactive approach to tenant-facing issues.
