EYFS Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting! Looking for a fulfilling EYFS Teaching Assistant role in Liverpool? We are seeking experienced and passionate EYFS one-to-one Teaching Assistants for a North Liverpool based primary school. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September 2026.

The main purpose of the role is to work one-to-one with a EYFS student with SEN considerations, the teacher and the school, to raise standards of achievement for all pupils in the EYFS.

Main Duties

Assist with a child in class under the direction of the teacher, working primarily in a one-to-one capacity to support with designated tasks in both class lessons and play, and outside of the classroom
Under the direction of the class teacher support learning activities and work with the individual, assisting in the implementation, and monitoring of progress, of individual education programmes
Assist with monitoring of progress, pupil observations, and if needed, to liaise with parents under the direction of the class teacher
Support teachers in photocopying and other tasks in preparation and support of teaching the student
Work with class teacher to track progress and the effectiveness of interventions and strategies
Be pro-active in thinking ahead to work with the class teacher and parents to plan adaptations to any changes in the usual school day or school trips
Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety, monitoring and dealing with such things as trip hazards by ensuring equipment is tidied away, and that storage and the learning environments are used appropriately
Subject to appropriate training and certification, administer basic first aid to pupils wherever required during the working day, dealing with any basic accidents and reporting incidents
React and deal appropriately, in a way that is consistent with the teacher's directions, to the emotional or social behaviours of pupils
Attend relevant in-service training and occasional staff meetings
At all times set a good example to students in terms of dress, punctuality, attendance and calm, polite behaviours
Any other reasonable duties as required by the Head TeacherPersonal Qualities

We are looking for someone who:

Possess energy and enthusiasm
Works well within a team
Experienced within an SEN setting
Experience working with students with ASD and ADHD considerations
Experience as a one-to-one Teaching Assistant
Will set and achieve high standards and expectations of learning, behaviour, and care
Eager to develop their skills and abilities To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role
An enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
A CV that must cover the last 10 years of employment history (where possible)
