Description:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support two pupils within EYFS who have sensory needs and difficulties with emotional regulation.
This rewarding long-term role is based within a welcoming and inclusive primary school committed to providing high-quality support for children with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping both pupils access learning, develop positive relationships, and build confidence within the classroom environment.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide individualised support for two EYFS pupils with identified sensory and emotional regulation needs.
* Assist pupils in accessing classroom activities and engaging with learning opportunities.
* Implement strategies recommended by the SENDCo and external professionals.
* Support emotional regulation through positive behaviour approaches and nurturing interventions.
* Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
* Encourage the development of communication, social and independence skills.
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents and external agencies.
* Observe, monitor and record pupil progress where required.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
* Has knowledge of sensory needs, autism, emotional regulation strategies or nurture-based approaches.
* Is patient, calm and able to build positive relationships with young children.
* Can respond sensitively to individual needs while maintaining clear boundaries.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.
* Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
