Freelance Externals Manager
We are working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Externals Manager to oversee the delivery of the external works package on a high-quality new build project in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in managing external works from groundworks through to final completion.
The Role
Manage all external works packages from start to finish.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.
Oversee:
Kerbing
Paving
Hard landscaping
Soft landscaping
External finishes
Roads and footpaths
Drainage interfaces
Ensure quality inspections and snagging are completed in line with programme.
Monitor site health & safety and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Team and subcontractors to maintain programme milestones.
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
Resolve technical and site coordination issues efficiently.
About You
Proven experience as an Externals Manager or Senior Site Manager delivering external works packages on new build projects.
Strong understanding of kerbs, paving, hard landscaping and soft landscaping.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating external works.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Able to drive programme while maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid are essential.
