Experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant .

The successful candidate will work closely with students across both primary and secondary school settings, supporting their social, emotional, and mental well-being. This role requires patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young learners facing SEMH challenges.

key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both in the classroom and during structured interventions.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a sense of belonging and self-worth.
Support students in developing emotional regulation skills and coping strategies
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.Requirements:

Previous experience working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in a primary and/or secondary is required
Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and the impact they can have on learning and behaviour
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
