Our client is looking for an independent, reliable and professional executive housekeeper with experience of overseeing staff, to look after their property in Central London both when they are not in residence and when they are.

You will need to be able to manage your own workload without needing direction and you need to be able to use a PC to a reasonable standard.

Your duties will include:

- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the house; supervision of the domestic help who will be carrying out duties in all areas including those used by drivers and security, catering staff in the kitchens, external suppliers and contractors, along with any other household staff.

- Planning and sourcing all catering requirements alongside the cook including everyday meals as well as functions at the residence.

- Maintaining household accounts, pay bills, planning and execution of budgets, administration of paperwork for insurance, contractor invoices etc. Deal with tradesmen/contractors. Manage security alarms.

- Regular stock checks throughout the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms.

- Supervision of household employees. Be responsible for planning leave ( in agreement with the Principals ) and keeping a roster of employees days off etc.

- Receiving the client's guests as required.

The princiapls arrange extra staff if they are in residence for longer than a week but the Executive Housekeeper is expected to cover if other family members make short visits ( not more than a couple of people ) including preparing breakfast and the occasional simple meal, and preparing the house and bedrooms in the evening. You will need lay a table and serve a meal if required.

- Organizing the family's and staff travel arrangements within UK.

- Monitoring incoming telephone calls, sorting post, appointment making as necessary including diary management.

- Making hotel and restaurant bookings as necessary

- Driving duties as and when required. You will need to have a full, clean driving license and be able to drive the household vehicles. There is a car for the Housekeeper's use.

There is a secondary house within walking distance of the main property, which is used for additional staff when the Principals are in town. The overall care and maintenance etc of which is also the responsibility of the Executive Housekeeper in all aspects. A cleaner goes in weekly when the house is unoccupied and more as needed when occupied.

This is a full time live in post – normally a 40 hour week. Days off could be weekends or during the week depending on the schedule required for the rest of the household team. However, the housekeeper will be expected to work longer hours when family are in residence, and maybe even over weekends. If possible, the days off in lieu should be taken in advance of a planned long visit and/or after such a visit.

The accommodation is a self contained apartment and partners with their own employment outside of the home will be allowed and a small well behaved pet will also be welcome
