We are looking for a dynamic, professional and experienced Events Sales Manager to join our team on the start of this exciting journey.
Position Overview:
As the Events Sales Manager, you'll spearhead the promotion and sales of our prestigious events and conference facilities. Your mission is twofold: driving revenue from external clients while meeting internal event needs. You'll lead the coordination of marquee events, ensuring impeccable service delivery and strengthening relationships to position us as a premier venue in global markets.
The purpose of this role is to actively promote and sell events and conference facilities to a wide range of clients, including internal staff, corporate clients, organisations, schools, groups, and agents. It aims to generate revenue from external clients, increase profitability, and effectively utilise space while meeting internal event needs. Responsibilities include coordinating major institutional events, ensuring high-quality customer service, leading sales strategy development, managing sales activities, collaborating on marketing plans, and providing managerial support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
* Oversee direct reports' daily tasks to ensure consistent and efficient service.
* Handle team-related matters such as recruitment, training, performance, sickness, attendance, and annual leave according to company policies.
* Conduct annual appraisals and ensure direct reports fulfil training needs.
* Lead, motivate, and develop team members by setting performance standards aligned with their roles, departmental goals, and personal growth.
Strategy, Planning, and Development:
* Support growth in internal and external events, repeat business, and conference accommodations.
* Develop strategic direction and review annual sales plans with department heads.
* Expand pipeline of high-value business in new and existing markets.
* Collaborate on marketing campaigns across various channels.
* Maintain awareness of industry trends and regulations.
* Ensure compliance and prioritise customer satisfaction.
* Present sales and marketing performance to management.
* Build relationships within the community.
* Deliver high-quality operational services for events.
Proactive Sales:
* Focus on retaining internal event and repeat conference business.
* Lead efforts to find, develop, and secure new business.
* Serve as the primary contact for new inquiries, ensuring professionalism and adherence to procedures during negotiations.
* Arrange client visits and corporate events to generate interest.
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation and distribution of contracts, quotes, and Terms and Conditions.
* Attend trade shows and networking events to develop business opportunities.
* Manage the sales process, setting and monitoring team targets and KPIs to ensure goals are met.
* Maintain a comprehensive client database and implement proactive sales and follow-up procedures.
Marketing, Brand, Digital, and Data
* Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and create promotional content for online and offline channels, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
Finance
* Assist the Events Sales Development Manager in creating the annual budget.
* Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
* Identify and report variances, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
* Oversee Events Finance Administrative Assistant and Events Administration Assistant to ensure accurate invoicing in line with financial regulations.
