Position: European Road Freight Manager
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £45,000
Hours: Mon - Friday 9am-17:30pm -
Our client is one of the UK's leading independent International Freight Forwarding businesses specialising in European Road freight and UK Domestic Transport, and Event Logistics.
They are a major operator in the UK & European Road transport market offering daily departures on their own fleet of driver-accompanied mega-trailers servicing many European Countries.
They have a strong network of agents across Western Europe and have now widened this to encompass Eastern Europe by adding further agents in the Baltic states, the Balkans, Romania, Bulgaria and the Russian Federation.
To coincide with plans for 2024, we are now hiring for a European Freight Manager to support the general cargo arm of the business.
European Road Freight Manager - Key Responsibilities:
Running a fleet of vehicles in and out of Europe
Develop new trade lanes for own services
Process all relevant customs documentation and clearances
Arrange both import and export of goods
You will be confident in the development of new commercial markets.
You will be responsible for overseeing all road freight consignments and developing new markets and trade lanes.
Respond to customer enquiries and source the most appropriate service options.
Provide verbal quotations and guidance on service options and negotiate with suppliers and customers to secure the booking.
Liaise with customers to develop report and a good understanding of each customers requirements.
Liaise with shipper, consignee and / or nominated contact to ensure all transportation details are correct and all parties are kept informed throughout transit.
Communicate with UK and overseas agents to effectively manage consignments.Compensation & Benefits
