An exciting opportunity to join a growing Small Works Division and play a key role in securing a varied portfolio of construction projects.

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for your next opportunity? Do you enjoy taking ownership of tenders, developing competitive pricing strategies and working collaboratively to secure new business?

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Estimator / Senior Estimator to join an expanding Small Works Division, strengthening its preconstruction and estimating capability.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover, working across a varied range of refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance and construction projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the division's tendering activity, working closely with commercial, operational, design and planning teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

*

Managing tenders from initial enquiry and review through to submission and handover.

*

Reviewing tender documentation, specifications and drawings.

*

Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates.

*

Undertaking detailed measurements and quantity take-offs.

*

Obtaining, reviewing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier quotations.

*

Preparing tender enquiries and managing the subcontractor pricing process.

*

Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.

*

Developing competitive pricing strategies to maximise opportunities while protecting margins.

*

Preparing tender reconciliations, cost breakdowns and supporting documentation.

*

Attending tender reviews and adjudication meetings.

*

Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

*

Supporting negotiated tenders, framework opportunities and two-stage procurement.

*

Ensuring a smooth and effective handover to the delivery and commercial teams.

You will manage multiple tender opportunities at different stages, requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.

The Projects

You'll be involved in a varied portfolio of construction opportunities, typically valued up to £4–5 million, with the opportunity to support larger framework and strategic tenders.

Project types will include:

*

Refurbishment and alteration works.

*

Commercial and specialist fit-out.

*

Roofing projects.

*

Planned and reactive maintenance.

*

Selected new-build projects.

The division works across a variety of construction sectors and procurement routes, offering an interesting and diverse workload.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Estimator who is commercially aware, detail-focused and confident managing the tendering process.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous estimating experience within a regional or national main contractor.

Experience pricing refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance or general building projects.

Strong measurement and cost-planning skills.

Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations.

A good understanding of construction methods, materials and procurement.

The ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities.

Experience with competitive tenders, frameworks and negotiated work.

Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

Candidates from specialist subcontracting or cost consultancy backgrounds will also be considered, provided they can demonstrate strong estimating capability and an understanding of main contractor commercial requirements.

Experience with Conquest or Causeway estimating software would be advantageous, although experience with other estimating packages will be considered.

A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable, but practical estimating experience and capability are equally valued.

You'll be joining a close-knit team where your input will have a direct impact on the success of the business and its future growth.

What's On Offer?

*

£75,000 basic salary.

*

Competitive additional package.

*

Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

*

A varied and interesting portfolio of projects.

*

The opportunity to take ownership of tenders from start to finish.

*

A supportive and collaborative working environment.

*

The opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of an expanding division.

Location: Malvern, with occasional travel to project sites and client locations as required.
