Job Title: Estimator / Commercial & Project Administrator

Industry: Fire Protection & Industrial Coatings
Location: Hampshire / Flexible depending on experience

About the Role

My client is looking for an experienced, organised and commercially minded Estimator / Commercial & Project Administrator to support the continued growth of the business.

The role will cover estimating, quotations, project administration, reporting, invoicing, O&M documentation and project handovers, working closely with the Director, clients, contractors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Review drawings, specifications and project take-offs.
* Prepare accurate quotations and tenders.
* Calculate labour, materials, plant and equipment costs.
* Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor prices.
* Prepare professional quotations for clients.
* Monitor project costs and profitability.
* Manage variations and additional works.
* Prepare and issue invoices.
* Maintain accurate project and commercial records.
* Prepare project progress reports and commercial reports.
* Compile and maintain O&M manuals and handover documentation.
* Coordinate project handovers to clients and main contractors.
* Ensure all required documentation, certificates, inspection records and reports are completed and submitted.
* Assist with ITPs, DFT reports, inspection records and quality documentation where required.
* Ensure project close-out documentation is complete and issued on time.
* Liaise with clients, main contractors, suppliers and site teams.
* Provide general commercial and project administration support.

Experience & Skills

Ideally, the successful candidate will have:

* Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, commercial administration or project coordination.
* Construction industry experience, preferably steelwork, fire protection, coatings or a related sector.
* Ability to read drawings and understand specifications.
* Strong understanding of labour, material and plant costs.
* Experience preparing reports, O&M manuals and handover packs.
* Good Excel and general computer skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone proactive, reliable and commercially aware who can take responsibility for the administration and commercial side of projects, from initial enquiry and pricing through to invoicing, reporting and final project handover.
