Our client based in Bournemouth is a leading Construction Company offering a comprehensive service, successfully delivering a wide range of projects across all sectors. They undertake new build and refurbishment works for their clients by traditional, design & build and partnering procurement methods.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an enthusiastic, commercially minded Building Estimator to join their team.
THE ROLE OF ESTIMATOR:
Working in close conjunction with the Pre-Construction Manager and other estimators the successful candidate will be undertaking all aspects of pricing up enquiries.
In this role your duties would include:
• Working alongside the Pre-Construction Manager and other Estimators to ensure a complete tender return.
• Processing enquiries from small works up to multi million projects and ensuring these are returned on time and at the right price.
• Using Estimating software to produce detailed estimates that can be used staff throughout the job.
• Visiting potential clients, surveying work, and producing priced schedules so that clear concise documents are available once we win the work, ensuring you have an understanding of client needs / restrictions when visiting.
• Being able to present tender bids for adjudication.
• Producing RFIs from tender information for clients’ professional teams.
ARE YOU AN ESTIMATOR WITH THE FOLLOWING:
• Experienced in the field of construction.
• A HNC or above is desirable but not essential.
• A strong communicator and team player.
• Able to manage a busy workload and several tenders at once.
• Be dynamic, innovative, and able to work on one’s own initiative.
• A strong communicator and team player
• Able to understand 2D and 3D drawings.
• Good working knowledge of SMM7/NRM.
• Knowledge of Causeway estimating software package and Microsoft Project (or similar programmes) would be desirable.
