Estimator - High-End Residential Construction

Location: Bristol / South West
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for the opportunity to work on exceptional, high-specification residential projects?

We're working with an established and highly regarded building contractor specialising in the delivery of bespoke, luxury homes and high-quality construction projects. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an Estimator to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Estimator who enjoys working on bespoke, design-led projects where quality, attention to detail and commercial accuracy are key.

The Role

As Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders, working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for high-end residential projects

Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and other tender information

Completing detailed take-offs and preparing bills of quantities

Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations

Preparing accurate cost plans and tender submissions

Identifying potential risks, omissions and opportunities within tenders

Liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers

Negotiating quotations and ensuring best commercial value

Assisting with the procurement process

Supporting the commercial team with budgets and cost planning

Maintaining accurate estimating records and databases

Working closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure a smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery

About You

We're looking for an Estimator with experience within construction, ideally gained within high-end residential, bespoke homes, luxury developments or other high-specification projects.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience working as an Estimator within construction

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs

Experience producing detailed estimates and tender submissions

Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability

Experience obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations

Strong understanding of drawings and specifications

Good negotiation and communication skills

A commercially focused and methodical approach

The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines

Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualifications are desirable
