Location: Leeds
Rate: £300-£350/day (negotiable based on experience)

Force Recruitment are seeking an experienced Freelance Civils Estimator with a proven background in Section 278 (S278) works to join a leading construction firm specializing in civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, roads, and highways. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing precise and competitive estimates for various civil engineering projects, particularly those involving S278 agreements.
Key Responsibilities
* Estimating: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for S278 and other civil engineering projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Tender Preparation: Develop and compile comprehensive tender documents, ensuring all necessary information is included and professionally presented.
* Cost Analysis: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements, with a focus on S278 works.
* Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and subcontractor rates.
* Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities within the project scope and incorporate them into the estimate.
* Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are comprehensive and aligned with project goals.
* Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on estimates, including assumptions, exclusions, and identified risks.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* Relevant professional certifications in estimating or quantity surveying are advantageous.
* Proven experience as an estimator in the civil engineering sector, with specific experience in S278 works.
* Skills:
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Proficient in estimating software and tools.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly regarding S278 works.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
