The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of a well-established construction business based in Ringwood, Dorset.
The business has a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, education and healthcare sectors, including both refurbishment and new-build projects.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join an established team and play a key role in securing future projects. You will be involved from initial enquiry and tender through to handover, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider pre-construction team.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and contract information
Preparing accurate and competitive tenders and estimates
Producing detailed bills of quantities and pricing schedules
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
Identifying potential risks, opportunities and commercial considerations
Carrying out take-offs and measuring works
Working closely with the construction and commercial teams
Attending tender meetings and site visits where required
Supporting the business with value engineering and alternative solutions
Ensuring tenders are completed accurately and within required deadlines
Maintaining a strong understanding of current construction costs and market conditions The Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:
Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry
Experience pricing commercial, education and/or healthcare projects
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and build costs
Experience working with drawings, specifications and tender documentation
Strong subcontractor and supplier negotiation skills
Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
Good IT skills, including Excel and estimating software
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team
A relevant construction or commercial qualification would be advantageous How to Apply
