Bedford, Bedfordshire
Up to £60,000 + car allowance + bonus + private healthcare
Office-based with site visits
Estimator required for a well-established, financially secure main contractor in Bedford. You will price a varied mix of refurbishment, fit-out, extension and new build projects, typically valued from £500,000 to £2 million.
You will manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, working with the commercial, operational and pre-construction teams.

Estimator Role
As Estimator, you will review tender opportunities, prepare accurate cost estimates, manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, coordinate bid information and help ensure submissions are competitive, compliant and delivered on time.
The role is office-based, with site visits as required to support tender reviews, scope understanding and bid preparation.
Estimator Responsibilities
* Prepare construction estimates and tender submissions
* Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work
* Issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries and assess quotations
* Complete take-offs, cost build-ups and pricing documents
* Identify tender risks, clarifications and value engineering options
* Coordinate bid information with commercial and operational teams
* Support tender handovers on successful projects
Estimator Experience Required
You will need construction estimating experience gained with a main contractor or general building contractor, ideally across refurbishment, fit-out, extensions or new build projects.
You should be confident reviewing tenders, obtaining subcontractor prices, building up costs, identifying risk and meeting submission deadlines.
A construction qualification is useful but not essential; practical estimating experience and commercial awareness are more important.
