Estimator - High-End Construction & Fit-Out
An established and growing construction contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join its commercial team. Based from its new Mayfair office, this is an excellent opportunity to work on prestigious, high-end construction and refurbishment projects across London.
This role is ideal for an Estimator with experience in the construction or fit-out sector who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in securing new business opportunities.
The Role
Reporting into the Commercial Team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with the pre-construction, design and delivery teams to ensure bids are commercially robust and aligned with client expectations.
You will be involved throughout the tender process, from initial enquiry through to contract award, helping to secure exciting projects across a varied portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Produce detailed Bills of Quantities and take-offs.
Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Build competitive pricing models and tender returns.
Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Liaise with design, commercial and operational teams throughout the tender process.
Attend tender review meetings and client discussions where required.
Maintain an up-to-date database of subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, refurbishment or fit-out.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
A construction-related qualification is desirable but not essential.
