Key Responsibilities:

As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for the manufacture and supply of high-precision engineering components and assemblies.

Review technical engineering drawings and specifications
Prepare detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs
Manage the end-to-end bid process, including proposals and bid management
Work closely with customers, suppliers, vendors and internal teams
Obtain competitive pricing and lead times from suppliers
Support the sourcing and manufacture of components for projects
Produce spend and production capacity forecasts
Identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness
Plan and manage your workload to meet strict deadlines

What we're looking for:

You'll ideally have a strong mechanical engineering background combined with purchasing, estimating or commercial experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Mechanical engineering experience, ideally supported by an indentured apprenticeship or equivalent
At least 5 years' purchasing experience within engineering or manufacturing
Confident reading engineering drawings with a good understanding of GD&T
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials and costing methodologies
Strong negotiation and commercial skills
Excellent numerical, analytical and Excel skills
Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
Confident communicator with a professional and positive approach
A proactive problem solver who can work independently and as part of a team
