Environmental, Social and Goverance Officer
Based in Hereford, Hereford & Worcester

Listgrove is supporting a leading manufacturer of rubber products who has sustainability at it s heart. They are now recruiting an Environmental, Social and Governance Officer (ESG). This a new position and will play a critical role in ensuring that the company's operations align with ESG principles and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies to address environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities within the manufacturing processes and supply chain. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainability practices, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive ESG policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
· Stay abreast of relevant ESG regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure the company's compliance. Regularly review and update policies and procedures accordingly.
· Conduct regular ESG risk assessments to identify potential environmental, social, and governance risks associated with manufacturing operations and supply chain activities. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
· Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, investors, and regulatory agencies, to promote transparency and accountability in ESG performance. Facilitate communication and collaboration to address stakeholder concerns and expectations.
· Prepare regular reports on ESG performance metrics, goals, and initiatives for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely disclosure of ESG information in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
· Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of ESG initiatives and track progress towards sustainability goals. Analyse data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on ESG principles, policies, and practices. Raise awareness and foster a culture of sustainability and corporate responsibility throughout the organization.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, industry peers, and external organizations to share best practices, leverage resources, and drive collective action on ESG issues.
· Conduct audits of the company’s operations in the UK, India and China to ensure adherence to company standards, principles, policies and procedures, & report preparation for presentation to the SLT, together with analyse of the audit findings and recommended improvement.
· Develop systems for collecting green-house gas (‘GHG’) data and reporting, as well as GHG emissions as required by ISO 14064. In addition, develop a framework for reporting the carbon footprint of all products manufactured.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/ Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
· Experience in ESG compliance, sustainability management, or related fields, preferably in the manufacturing industry is preferable but not a requirement.
· Deep understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN Global Compact).
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess ESG risks and opportunities and develop effective mitigation strategies.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
· Certification in ESG-related disciplines (e.g., CSR, ESG reporting, sustainability auditing) is a plus.
· Commitment to ethical business practices and corporate social responsibility.
Additional Requirements:
· Primarily based in the Hereford office but with a willingness to travel occasionally, as required.
