I'm recruiting for a newly created ER & Operations Lead. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you'll be involved in everything from complex employee relations and manager coaching through to people operations, governance, process improvement and wider people projects.

The People team is going through an exciting period of change. They are looking for someone who enjoys challenging the status quo, improving ways of working and partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.

Description

You'll become the go-to person for Employee Relations, leading a varied caseload of formal and informal matters including performance, disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases. Rather than simply advising from a distance, you'll work closely with managers to coach them through challenges, build capability and ensure issues are managed confidently and consistently.

Alongside ER, you'll take ownership of key People Operations activities, partnering with colleagues across payroll, recruitment, policy, compliance and governance. You'll play a central role in ensuring people processes are effective, compliant and fit for the future.

The role offers plenty of variety, including:

Managing end-to-end employee relations casework
Coaching and challenging managers at all levels
Leading on policy development and process improvement
Producing and analysing people data and MI to support decision-making
Supporting SMCR and regulatory people processes
Driving operational improvements and reducing unnecessary administration
Supporting people initiatives focused on culture, engagement and performance
Exploring opportunities to leverage AI and technology within HR
Acting as a key point of contact for managers and employees across the business

Profile

This role would suit an experienced HR professional who thrives on building relationships and getting involved in the detail of the business.

You'll likely have:

Strong Employee Relations experience with the confidence to manage complex cases independently
A proactive and commercially minded approach
The ability to influence, coach and constructively challenge managers
Experience reviewing and improving HR processes and policies
Strong analytical skills and confidence using people data to identify trends and opportunities
A resilient approach and comfort handling difficult conversations
Genuine curiosity about how organisations work and how they can improvePrevious experience within financial services, banking or another regulated environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
