HR & Employment Law Expert (Face-to-Face & Virtual)

Location: Glasgow (90% Office-Based) + Travel across Scotland (~1 day every 2 weeks)
Salary: £35K + £4,000 Car Allowance plus annual bonus
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Fast-paced, standalone role)
Requirement: Full UK Driver's Licence Essential

In this dynamic, high-impact role, you will protect and support 100,000 business owners nationwide, ensuring absolute legal compliance while delivering fair outcomes for both employers and employees.

Operating in a fast-paced, standalone capacity, you will manage a varied portfolio of cases across every sector and industry.

The Role & Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your primary focus is to deliver an expert HR service both virtually (via Microsoft Teams) and in person. Acting with strict impartiality, you will manage formal employee relations matters from end to end:

Chairing & Conducting Meetings: Leading or supporting clients through complex consultancy, capability, disciplinary, grievance, appeal, and investigation hearings.
Risk Management: Assessing complex situations, identifying legal/commercial risks for the business owner, and communicating these risks effectively.
Dispute Resolution: Undertaking mediation, conciliation, and settlement negotiations to resolve ongoing workplace conflict.
Expert Documentation: Reviewing evidence, speaking with witnesses, and producing thoughtful, legally compliant, and high-quality outcome reports within strict timeframes.
Client Relationship Management: Building strong, consultative partnerships with corporate clients to encourage repeat business.
Collaboration: Working seamlessly with an office-based paralegal team who manage and diarise your hearing schedule.What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for a personable, confident, and highly organized HR professional or People Manager who excels under pressure. To be successful, you must have:

Qualifications/Experience: A Degree in HR, CIPD, Law (or a related discipline) OR a strong, demonstrable background in people management and chairing formal HR meetings.
Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of UK Employment Law and a proven track record of issuing formal outcomes (warnings, dismissals, etc.).
Communication & Presence: Exceptional communication skills and a highly professional presentation. You must be able to rapidly build rapport with individuals who may be stressed, angry, or upset.
Attributes: A "can-do" approach to problem-solving, a firm commitment to impartiality, and the flexibility to handle short-notice assignments.What's in it for You?
