Equipment and Facility Engineer

Start: End of January

Location: Cambridge

Salary: up to £45k

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment and Facility Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of their facility and equipment and they are a leader in innovation through specific technologies.

As an Equipment and Facility Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for all matters related to the facility and equipment within the company.

Your responsibilities will include:

Cleanroom Development: Develop and upgrade cleanroom environments and facilities to facilitate seamless R&D and production activities.

Equipment Upgrade: Take charge of equipment upgrades, from proof-of-concept (e.g., drawing) to execution, ensuring the smooth integration of advanced technologies.

Breakdown Analysis: Analyse equipment breakdowns and develop corrective actions to minimise downtime and enhance reliability.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and scalability.

Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment breakdowns and enhance overall equipment performance.

Troubleshooting: Develop troubleshooting procedures to minimize machine downtime and swiftly address technical issues.

Commissioning: Setup and commission new equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Maintenance: Conduct equipment and facility systems maintenance to minimise interruptions to production.

Cleanroom Upgrades: Upgrade the cleanroom environment to support effective production processes.

Essential Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an equipment engineer in a chemical/semiconductor manufacturing environment (experience with wet etch equipment is advantageous). Ideally from a fluid dynamics background.

Technical Skills: Solid understanding of electronic and mechanical principles, with proven problem-solving skills.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education: Degree/HND in a scientific/engineering discipline or F.E Qualification OR equivalent experience.

Maintenance Experience: Proven experience in maintaining equipment, with strong training skills and technical familiarity with products and equipment.

Forklift License: Desirable but not mandatory.
