Environmental Advisor

Details:
Description:

About us

Haventus was born out of the vital need for port space to support large-scale deployment of offshore wind.

The first Haventus energy transition facility is currently under development at Ardersier Port. When completed, it will transform Scotland’s largest brownfield port into a world-class facility for the deployment and servicing of offshore wind installations.

Ardersier Port boasts a prime location on the Moray Firth. It represents an operational model that Haventus will seek to replicate across the world, to help enable a greener, net zero future globally.

About the role

This is a broad environmental role, where the ideal candidate will be confident in joining a small team with a wide brief. Under the banner of ‘Environment Assessment’, the Adviser will be involved in activities related to permitting and consenting, ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) reporting and Monitoring.

Consent Management

* Assist in the design, procurement, monitoring, and management of environmental surveys both at sea and on land.

* Support EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) activity, including compiling and reporting on environmental site data (noise, air, water & biodiversity).

* Maintain the permit library of consents, permissions, permits and subordinate management plans.

ESG, Monitoring & Coaching

* Track project compliance against conditions in existing and proposed permits and disseminate new plans or consenting and ESG conditions to the wider team.

* Work with members of the HSEQ team to compliment ISO system procedures.

* Develop methods of reporting on ESG appropriate to the company, including collection of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions data across the company and at our stakeholders.

We intentionally don’t list all the things that the role involves. As a developing company, we often wear many hats to get involved in things outside of the ‘day job’ to ensure our experiences are diverse, challenging and ultimately, help to make our company a success.

You can learn more about our commitment to positive environmental impact on our company website.

We’d like you to,

* Be qualified – a qualification in any of the ‘environmental’ academic routes would be advantageous, as too would be relevant work experience.

* Be passionate about the environment and understand the principles of what makes exceptional environmental stewardship.

* Be a self-starter, able to use your own initiative and knowledge to solve problems but be prepared to ask for help when you need it.

* Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbally. Issues impacting the environment can be complex, we need you to help our team understand why.

* Thrive on new challenges, rising to the occasional pressure to do things on time and to a great standard.

You’ll be working closely with our Head of Consenting, and for the right candidate this is the opportunity to learn, grow and develop into a well-rounded senior environmental professional.
