Entry Level Laboratory Technician
Initial 3-Month Contract (with potential to go permanent)
Aberdeen
Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:15
£13.45 per hour

Our client is a well-established materials testing laboratory based in Aberdeen, providing mechanical and corrosion testing, chemical analysis and metallurgical examination to clients across various sectors. As demand for their services continues to grow, they're looking for a motivated individual to join their laboratory team as a technician.

**Due to it initially being a contract, our client need someone who is already local to Aberdeen- onsite one stage interview required**

The Role
This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for a science graduate, or someone with a strong interest in science and a hands-on, practical mindset, to begin a career within materials testing. Working within our laboratory environment, you will be involved in:
• Operating and handling large testing machinery in accordance with laboratory procedures and safety standards
• Pre-conditioning samples and specimens in line with client and industry specifications
• Preparing and handling materials samples ahead of testing
• Accurately recording data and test results
• Following strict health, safety and quality procedures within a laboratory setting
• Working closely with the wider technical team to support testing schedules and turnaround times

What We Are Looking For
• A degree in a science-related subject is preferred but not essential - we welcome applications from graduates and those with relevant practical or laboratory experience
• A genuine interest in science, engineering or materials testing
• Comfortable working with large machinery and equipment in a laboratory environment
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to following procedures and specifications
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and develop within a technical role
