Description:
A well-established engineering consultancy currently has an urgent requirement for an Air Tightness Engineer to compliment their team of engineers. You will be responsible for carrying out air tightness testing across the Cumbria area for a number of high profile public and private sector clients. Qualifications
Qualified in an engineering discipline
Experience
Background/previous experience in engineering, surveying, building, construction etc.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as report writing will be one of the key aspects of this role
An understanding and knowledge of a building's anatomy
Computer literate
Duties
Responsible for end-to-end management of client engagement; arranging site visits, pre-engagement with the site manager to ensure pre-site checks had been conducted, explaining design features and faults to the site manager, explaining where improvements can be made to the design of the building;
Undertake design reviews with Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Regional Managers.
Identify potential problems and/or weakness with the building design
Suggest cost effective ways to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
Undertake pre-test audits
Produce detailed technical reports to identify potential leakage areas
Compliance with Part L Building Regulations
Projects/Clients
Types of properties include Public and Private sector buildings ranging from single house tests to large scale development testing.
