Salary: £30000 - £46000 per annum, dependant on experience

About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and empathetic English Teacher (SEN) to join our dedicated team at a specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons tailored to students with special educational needs, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

English Teacher (SEN) Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.

Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students, supporting their academic and emotional growth.

Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters learning and development.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students.

Manage classroom behaviour effectively using positive behaviour support strategies.

Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse needs.

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.

English Teacher (SEN) Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialisation in English.

Proven experience as an English Teacher (SEN), preferably in an SEMH setting.

Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies involved in teaching students with special educational needs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students with a range of abilities and backgrounds.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
