Exciting Opportunity: English Teacher at a Pupil Referral Unit in Walsall!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate English teacher to join us in providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with diverse learning needs and abilities, including those who may have been excluded from mainstream education.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the individual needs and interests of students, fostering a love for English language and literature.
Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students, in collaboration with support staff and external agencies, to ensure their academic and personal success.
Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students to monitor progress and identify areas for development, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, and work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning community.
Key Skills and Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at secondary level, preferably in a PRU or alternative provision setting.
Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum, with the ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
Strong behavior management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or adversity.
Empathy, patience, and resilience to support students through challenges and setbacks, and celebrate their successes and achievements.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic development of students.
