Job Title: Temporary English Specialist (Secondary Teacher)

Location: Merton, SW London
Salary: MPS for Inner London equivalent
Start Date: 2nd September 2024

Contract Type: Full time, long-term

We are a large, mixed Secondary school located in Merton, SW London, with a focus on academic excellence and student well-being. We are currently looking for a temporary English Specialist (Secondary Teacher) to teach KS3 to KS4 English with Drama for the next academic year.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring students, with a deep knowledge of the English curriculum and the ability to deliver engaging and creative lessons. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing high-quality lessons, as well as supporting the academic and personal development of our students.

Role Expectations:

Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons in English with Drama to KS3 to KS4 students
Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other stakeholders
Participate in school events and activities as requiredRequirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Relevant degree in English or a related subject
Experience teaching English with Drama to KS3 to KS4 students
Excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a teamVetting Documents:

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
